Early action is always the best advice. With regular check-ups your veterinarian can talk with you about your cat's aging process. Your veterinarian may discuss weight control and the administration of Cosequin to help your cat in her senior years.

Comments about Nutramax Laboratories, Inc. Nutramax Cosequin for Cats:

My vet put one of my kitties on this for bladder irritation because he says it helps repair the bladder wall. I just sprinkle one capsule every day on his morning meal and mix it in, and he doesn't even know it's there. I do believe this product has helped him and will continue to use it for the rest of his life.

Comments about Nutramax Laboratories, Inc. Nutramax Cosequin for Cats:

For 2 years, we have lived in a fixer-upper with bare concrete floors, which were very hard on everyone's aging joints. Even though we provided our 14 year old tabby (overweight, short legs) with steps up to each piece of furniture, even the short jumps down quickly accelerated the arthritis in her shoulders and front legs. We were giving her Adequan shots which helped greatly, but it's not a long-term solution. After getting wall-to-wall carpet to ease the wear and tear on our joints, we discontinued the Adequan and started using the Cosequin again. Previously it didn't seem to make a huge difference, but now that her pain is pronounced by her hobbling gait, we can really see the difference, especially if we miss a day. Since she is a big kitty, near 20 pounds, she requires two pills nightly, mixed in with some dehydrated powdered chicken and a little water. You may need to work up to the effective dose for your kitty's weight over the course of a couple weeks because it might upset her tummy at first. After that, no more tummy problems. (Make sure you check with your vet for maximum safe dosage.) I feel much more comfortable giving her a supplement that should have no long-term side effects.

My house cat is 13 years old, she is an in door cat. I noticed about a year ago her struggle to get up and walking slower. I ordered this product and I add a capsule on a daily basis; she has definitely improved. She can junmp on to the beds and walking faster.
