Wellness has redefined the world of grain-free cat food! We have developed a 50% protein diet with the most meat possible in a dry cat food while still controlling fat and mineral levels!

The essence of the raw feeding philosophy is nutrient-rich, high-quality meat - and lots of it. That's the same philosophy behind CORE Fish & Fowl Dry Cat Food. But that's not all. This unique, grain-free formula also supports and nurtures your cat's inside. their essence. their Core.

Since feline health requires a delicately balanced nutritional equation, we must consider that adding the most meat possible in a dry cat food will have an effect on fat, mineral and calorie levels. So to create a protein-focused diet the Wellness Way, we carefully control the quality and quantity of the ingredients we use, and pay close attention to the individual properties of each inclusion. From source to bowl, we make no exceptions!

I use this dry food as a supplement to the canned of the same type. If she eats only dry, she gets constipated. She used to throw-up on a regular basis, that has stopped on the grain-free foods.

Comments about Wellness CORE Grain Free Fish & Fowl Dry Cat Food:

I switched to this high protein food about a year ago for my two cats. They both love it and their coats have improved and one (who has always been skinny and not a big eater) has gained to a more healthy weight. I went to a high protein food after one of my daughter's cats became diabetic, it just seems more like a natural diet. I did get one bag at a pet store that they just didn't seem to like. After a week, I got a new bag and they chowwed down again. I emailed Wellness and they ended up sending coupons to replace the bag. The pet store said they would have also taken the bag back, but I usually empty the bags into another container and throw the original bag away. So, if your cat doesn't like it, keep in mind that it's a natural product and can go off.

I feed a wellness core dry and 3oz wellness paté canned diet and my kitty loves it. 1/4 cup of dry in the morning and a can in the evening. After feeding kit and kaboodle and 9 lives then switching to wellness I've noticed nothing but improvement. Happy, active kitty with a beautiful shiny soft coat.

Comments about Wellness CORE Grain Free Fish & Fowl Dry Cat Food:

My cat had severe diarrhea for several years. Unfortunately, my vet never suggested trying grain-free (Gluten-free) food and treated the poor cat several times for worms. A friend suggested switching to a diet that doesn't contain gluten. Researching gluten-free diets, I found out that Wellness CORE contains only high quality ingredients. I also tried at least three additional brands, but only Wellness CORE is well tolerated by my cat.

Comments about Wellness CORE Grain Free Fish & Fowl Dry Cat Food:

I have 2 cats one is 7 months old and the other is 3 years old. I was looking for a healthy food that both cats could eat. It is more expensive than other cat food but I was willing to spend the money if they liked it. They both like the Wellness CORE canned so I thought I would try adding Wellness CORE dry food. Neither cat would even try one bite of this food. The 3 year old cat can be a little finicky but the 7 month old will eat ANYTHING. I was very surprised that neither one of them wouldn't even try one bite of this food. I have never had them totally reject a food without even trying it. Usually they will at least try the food then decide they don't like it. Not with this food. I am glad I only purchased the small bag of this food. So I guess they will remain on Taste Of The Wild dry. Both cats love TOTW dry food.

Service & Delivery comments:

Excellent service. Arrived fast and well packed. I will definitely use Pet Food Direct again.

Comments about Wellness CORE Grain Free Fish & Fowl Dry Cat Food:

This is my go-to dry food. I feed my cats a mostly wet food diet, but leave out dry food for them to pick at throughout the day. I have tried several grain-free dry foods and ingredients-wise and taste-wise, this ends up being my top pick. I think Halo's nutrition is a bit superior, but my cats aren't crazy about the food. Evo and Natural Balance's tastes are preferred a little more by my kitties, but they use more chicken and turkey meal than Wellness. So over all, this is the dry food I feel best about feeding them regularly.

However, the value/prize could be a little better.

My two cats are 10 years old now. There mother just died of diabetes and I was concerned about the health of these two. They are indoor cats and somewhat overweight. After reading articles about feline diabetes I chose to getthis brand of food for them. They dislike the canned food but are enjoying the dry. Hopefully I will see a weight loss and improved activity soon.

I have three kitties, aged 2.5, almost 2 and 1.5 years. This has been fabulous for all of them, especially when I had kittens and over a year--everyone can eat. My girls are all adopted off the street and have beautiful coats, are very healthy and love this food. Additionally, one had (rear-end) glandular issues and Wellness (both wet and crunchy) is good for this problem. Highly recommend!

Comments about Wellness CORE Grain Free Fish & Fowl Dry Cat Food:

I am very picky with with dry cat foods. I'm very pleased on such a shiny coat our cats have due to the oils in core. My cats do not vomit up hair balls. It comes out when the use the litter box. If a bag smells bag when opening it bring it back to the store you bought it from and they will replace it for a new one. Our cats are either a year or 2 years old I rescued from a home which they were abused and their coats were just awful.
Since they ate Wellness core what a change in their coats, poop and over all health. I can really not have anything negative to say with this product except I wish there was another flavor. I like to have them eat different foods. We do not like to eat the same thing. So I give them once in a while brie cheese, sushi, dried grass and different treats.

Comments about Wellness CORE Grain Free Fish & Fowl Dry Cat Food:

I wanted to find a hard cat food product with no grain because I wanted something available during the day especially when I am out.Glad to find Wellness Core but my cat doesn't eat it unless the soft food is unavailable i.e between meals, and even then usually only 1/4 of a cup (Which is why I only gave it 4 stars). I give my cat 3oz morning and night of soft food with half a cup of Wellness Core hard food a day. The kibble is small and tends to find itself scattered bellow the bowls but my cat sniffs most of it out and eats it (Cats Blind). All in all very happy with Wellness Grain-Free products.

P.S When I say soft food not available I mean he'll only nibble on it until he realizes I will not be home to feed him his night on time. (Work nights)

I work in a Pet Store and I make it my duty to try and know the different ingredients in the foods... My mom was feeding Iams catfood to her two cats for years and for the last two years her 12 year old cat was constantly throwing up her food...not all hairballs..I tried to get her to switch to different all natural foods that where just as good as the wellness core and she would not eat them at all...i finally broke down and bought a bag of the core even though it does cost alot and i was amazed that she actually ate it...i do have to say that my mothers cats went to eating a 20 pound bag of catfood every three weeks to eating maybe 9 pounds every three weeks... they love the food and they eat less because there are no artificial preservatives and nooo corn and soy and nooo by products....my moms older cat also stopped throwing up all her food and now the cat feels better (obviously) for not bein sick and my mom goes through less food...so basically its cheaper to feed this food than it was feeding Iams

I feed my two adult indoor cats this food daily. Their coats have improved dramatically and the one who had constant dandruff, no longer has any signs of it. I love that it is protein based, grain free, and it can be resealed. I don't have anything negative to say about it except the price is a little much. To the reviewer who said the food smelled: I hope that person knows cats don't pick food by the way it looks; they pick food by the way it smells. I think this food is the best quality dry food on the market.

Comments about Wellness CORE Grain Free Fish & Fowl Dry Cat Food:

My wife and I have always tried to get our animals the best food. (without cooking it ourselves of course) This food is not made in china. We were glad to find this out, especially after finding out alot of food are made at the same distribution places. [...] I love my animals. I want them to live long and prosper. I feed myself well and dont eat at mcdonalds everyday. Cats need high protein diets. Not grains or carbs. Their bodies turn the protein into all the vitamins they need to live. If your cats are fat, buy this food. Mine were overweight slightly and on a diet food. This one worked much better and they like it too. Some foods will make the cat box really stinky. We have tried a few we had to get rid of quick. Wellness Core fish and fowl worked good for the cats and us. Just not the dog. We have to keep him away. Pros: Cats like it, weight controlled better, made with quality food products in USA, smell after use. cons: Dog likes it too, Costs went up again.

My husband and I both thought it smelled bad, and the cats didn't seem to care for it. The reason I threw away most of the bag, however, was the hairballs. Our two cats had not had hairballs in years, but they had frequent hairballs while on this food (one cat more so than the other). When I switched them back completely onto their former diet, they stopped having hairballs.

Comments about Wellness CORE Grain Free Fish & Fowl Dry Cat Food:

Have studied up on the best avaiable dry cat foods avaiable and I have to say that Wellness CORE is the TOPS! The cats have a few different bowls of food down in the kitchen and I noticed the Wellness Core was the one they turn to the most, barely touching a full bowl of Inovo and one of Royal Canin 'Babycat'. The price of Core is fairly reasonable here in Dallas and I know of several places where it's available so I have a few options.
