The pros are you can use it to mulch around your trees (after scooping solids) and it's relatively inexpensive. The cons are, it gets saturated and never seems to dry. The cats' litterbox gets very difficult to clean because the wet litter sticks to the sides. The urine odor gets unbearable after a few days which means you have to change it more often than pine pellets. It is also very lightweight and you might have to use 2 litterboxes together or a larger box to prevent tipping. It sticks to their paws when they jump out and tracks all over rugs and floors, which need constant sweeping and vacuuming as a result. If they made it in pellets, it might last longer and work better. Back to Feline Pine for now.

I have used Cedarific for years and all my cats, present and past, love it as much as I do. No sandy grit stuck in their paws or deposited throughout the house. It's all natural and does a good job on odor control. I've recommended it many time to friends and they concur!

Have tried at least a dozen types of litter and prefer this overall. The cedar smell is nice and there is virtually no dust. And although it does not clump, it stays together enough to scoop urine out easily.

I've been getting Cedarific cat litter for my cats for years. It's natural and has a nice cedar aroma. There is no clumping so it's safer for the cats, even kittens who I would never use a clumping litter for. As long as you clean the box regularly (I have 3 cats and clean it once a day), it never smells bad because what the cats leave in it goes to the bottom - the clean cedar chips stay on top because they're lighter. This makes it easy to clean, but that's the only drawback, is that the lighter cedar chips tend to get all over the place unless you have a covered cat box. Otherwise this is perfect and I wouldn't use anything else.

Never able to find a litter I was happy with, I ended my search when I found this one. It smells so nice, lasts a long time and can be used without fear of harming my pet with toxins. My cat still manages to make a mess around the box, scratching the litter out on the floor, but no more than with past products. I can scoop out the solids, scatter the wetness to dry and dissipate any odor and not have to flush product every time I clear the box. I feel better about disposing a natural substance into the trash as well.

You can't beat Cedarific for odor absorbency and I like that it's environmentally friendly. My cats love it! But it tracks all over my apartment and it sticks to the sofa and my bedding...not cool.

this stuff is great once you get your cats used to using it. key for that is sprinkle some clay on top while they get used to it. weighs half what clay does and is great stuff. when it smells like ciggie butts time to change. be warned tho if you order the biggest bag it weighs 33 lbs but is like 60 lbs of clay. use about an index finger's depth.

I've been using Cedarific for 22 years. It was easy enough to find when I lived in NY but now I live in AZ and no one sells it. It smells great, is lightweight and easy to scoop even though it is not a "clumping" litter. The ONLY thing that I don't like about it is when I realize I am at the bottom of the bag and haven't ordered more! I would absolutely recommend it to everyone.

I "discovered" this litter at a grocery store in S. Pasadena, FL. Unfortunately, the store stopped selling it after a year and I was hooked. As an owner of three cats, I believe this is by far the best litter for our home. There is no dust, some tracking that can be easily swept or vacuumed, and very low, if any, urine odor. I order the largest bag possible and have it shipped every three weeks. [...] I wish this litter was in stores - EVERYWHERE!

This stuff is lighter than clay litter so if you have a bad back is good ... and while not so hot for heavy usage of multiple cats, it is great for light to medium usage situations.
