I have started using this brand on my King Shepherd after reading the glowing reviews. My dog went from being scheduled for a much needed teeth cleaning to not needing it in just 6 weeks!! His teeth are as white & clean just like when he was just a 1 year old pup. Absoltely amazing. His coat is glossy, his skin is soft and NOT irritated and his minimal stool is soooo easy to clean up in the yard. And he eats less, he is not always hungry anymore and he will stop before his bowl is empty. He is holding his weight of 125 pounds on just 2 !!!! cups a day! I call that excellent value.

I have a rescue who scratched a LOT when I got her, to the point where she had a bald spot on her chest. I switched her to this food and she hardly ever scratches any more. Bald spot is gone. Plus she loves it, as does my other dog. The only reason I don't give it 5 stars is because they do have trouble digesting it sometimes (I can't feed them the beef version at all).

This food is outstanding! The quality of the food and palatability is second to none. I have a 15 month old Rottweiler and he has been on Orijen since he was puppy. Then switched him to the adult food. His structure is lean and solid and his coat is very shinny. It's a little more expensive than some other products out there but the results speak for themselves.

I have been on a long hunt for a great dog food for my great dane. She is 2 years old! She has a weight problem because she has a high motabilism and she runs 6 miles a day with my husband. She was on blue buffalo and was eating 10 cups a day and 2 bags a month and she was at 96 pounds. After just 4 days on this food she is at 101 pounds and still going!I have noticed that her poo is a lot smaller and it looks like poo not a mountain of nasty poo! If you have a very active dog like i do! This is the food you are looking for i love it so much and a great thing is that they have wonderful custom care that you can call! Plus low cooking temps that dont kill the good stuff for your dog!!

One of the very best dry foods you can get for your dog. I spent a lot of time trying to find the very best for my baby. Even though this food costs more its relatively inexpensive when you look at how much we spend on our own groceries. I have a bichon so a 5.5/lb bag lasts about 7-8 wks. My dog has always been somewhat indifferent about dry dog foods but he thinks this food is ok. But I found my dog has a sensitive belly. If I give him too much of this food it upsets his stomach a lot. I've had times when I had to take my baby to the hospital due to bad stomach pains. I think I"m understanding things better now and I mix his Orijen with another high quality food that has a much lower protein level. Older dogs shouldn't have that high protein anyways. I do always recommend this food to friends. I just mention that its a high quality/high protein food as well.

After a lot of reading and a LOT of time researching reviews online, I determined that Orijen was probably my best choice for my pup. This food is grain-free (the short intestinal tract of a dog is not designed for digesting grains) and contains local human-quality meats, veggies and fruits as well as natural source supplements. Our 2 yr old german shepherd was diagnosed with IBS. Although he was eating 4 cups of dog food/day (and several snacks) he was literally starving because he could not properly digest the food due to the grain content. We had to search for as natural food as possible to prevent our dog from dying-surgery was the option. Orijen's all natural food has allowed our dog to enjoy meals. Although he is on a strict feeding schedule he is happy, playful,strong and gaining weight.His stools are now solid. He loves the taste. It is like every other kibble to handle. He looks forward to every feeding. We are hoping, over time, to be able to decrease the number of feedings, while maintaining a safe dietary habit.
Since this is my first bag, I do not know how the cost vs frequency is going to equal out, but my dog is everything to me and I'm not willing to pay with his life.
The food bag is also very strong but it would be helpful if it had a resealable top.

I have two dogs who are both picky eaters. I needed to switch to a grain-free kibble mostly to help get some weight off of my aging, ailing yellow labrador who has a severe arthritic condition. My pitbull is a VERY picky eater. After numerous trials and errors I found Orijen. He absolutely loves this food! It has also done wonders for his health. As an added bonus his stools are smaller and more pellet like so they are easier to pick up. It is expensive, but well worth it in my opinion. If you are unsure I would recommend trying the sample size first.

I used to use California Natural by Natura who also makes Innova, Evo etc. For years I was happy with it. But now the company was sold to Proctor and Gamble and recently it started to make my dogs sick. I switched to Orijen dry and Fromms canned (Fromms lists their food as human grade!!!) and my dogs love it. Also their bellies are feeling better again. These 2 foods are good for all dogs and they are healthy.

This is excellent dog food. It is 100% natural & has no artificial colors, additives or preservatives. I have an older black lab who is a rescue. She has skin problems & must be on a grain free diet. Since putting her on the Orijen dry food, her skin condition has improved greatly. She gets three cups a day, which, along with 1/4 can of canned food, is perfect for maintaining a healthy weight. She likes this food so much that she won't go out in the morning until after she has eaten.

Have used various foods for over 40 years. Recently started using 80/20 Adult with my adopted 1.5 yr old Airedale. I immediately saw an improvement in coat.
Am now using the Puppy Large with my 16 wk GSD. His coat just glows and he loves the food.

Boston Terriers will eat anything, but it doesn't always agree with them. Most things consumed give them awful gas. My dog, Ares, loves his new dog food and he looks great. Because its such a balanced food, he has loads of energy and very little gas. He eats less of this food, but I believe that's because there are less fillers. He gets more of what he needs from smaller amounts. Its expensive but well worth it for my buddy.

We have a VERY active 18 month old Lab. We also have a VERY relaxed 5 year old Beagle. When I switched to this food I had zero problems with the dogs liking it. I noticed their "leavings" in the yard are much easier to pick up because everything has been digested. They are getting everything out of this food. Another nice feature is their teeth stay clean. Our Beagle had stained teeth from food we fed him as a puppy, which are now fading away. If you look at your dogs as children (as we do) benefits far outweigh cost.

Orijen is known to be a great food and my dog really likes it.
Only reason I gave 4 stars and not 5: I definitely noticed that he does seem to prefer 70/30 for some reason. I bought 80/20 without realizing it, and as great as the food is, he doesn't run to it the way he did 70/30. My dogs love this food. I feed them Orijen only, and they are healthy and happy. And because it is so nutritious, they don't need to overeat to stay healthy; so they are slim, fit and shiny.
Definitely avoid over feeding them - you will know because their stool will be loose. This food is great and my very well behaved dogs try to climb up me to get it at feeding time.

My dog and I love this product. I have a boxer and he has a very sensitive stomach. He also needs a food with a lot of protein in it because of how much energy he burns on a daily basis. I tried a lot of different foods before I found orijen. The ingredients are amazing, my dog loves it, his stomach loves it, and his physique is perfect. The only reason I didn't give it 5 stars is because for some reason they have a hard time keeping it fully stocked. I researched hours and hours on the best food to feed my Sheltie. I LOVE everything about this food and the company. My sheltie has an amazing coat for her age and i can see my reflection in her eyes they are so clear and shiny. Her teeth are great and she digests it great. Her poos are small and compact. This food gives her lots of energy and great muscle tone.

My only cons would be to lower the protein, and after i was finished the first bag of the PUPPY, thats what they did! And they lowered thier protein levels, but added MORE FRESH MEAT.

My only other concern would be for them to make a Small dog formula/size because the kibble pieces are a big large. About the size of a dime.

I began buying premium dog food when I rescued a Siberian Husky. Anya had lived in a wealthy home and been the cute puppy acquisition for a little girl now all grown up. Anya's coat was dull and a sickly yellow, eyes that were gaunt and bones that showed through her thick coat. Thick yellow coating on her teeth. Previous owner must've bought the cheapest store brand dog food.
I bought Orijen for the ingredients and percentages on the packaging in an attempt to completely restore and rebuild her naturally.

I liked the ziploc packaging for maintaining freshness as it is humid here and warm all the time. See the results in the picture. Anya was restored and gorgeous but has now passed on.
I have two dogs. Two things I did not like about this product were fishy doggie breath and Anya's fur became too oily and fishy smelling. The other dog did not care for the food but ate anyway.

That's when I changed over to a chicken diet in Innova and Before Grain by Merrick. That solved the fish smell. All 3 of these brands lowered the bulk of yard waste and were assimilated by the dogs very well following the guidelines on the packaging by ideal weight.

It seems expensive but overall it's not that much more than the cheap stuff. Once I figured in the cost of the extra supplements I don't have to buy and the smaller quantity of food used at each meal this turns out to be a good buy.

Plus my GSD and the GSD Mix love it. I can tell a difference in their coats, their energy levels are great and their weights have come down to normal. Now that I have seen the difference I can't imagine feeding anything else.

I haven't used this dog food for long but it did reduce the volume of her stool. The stools are also softer so I will keep her on this for awhile to see how it goes.
I have to say that she loves it, my mom's picky poodle and daughter's Aussie all love the taste of this food. THAT is a good sign.
I like the idea of no grain.
Price is reasonable when compared to other healthy dry food brands.

We are actively monitoring our 11 month old Male Akita for possible Kidney disease. His diet is crucial to maintaining the best health for him. He is extremely finicky when it comes to the dry stuff and yet he needs to maitain a regular feeding schedule. After extensive research on the net and doing comparisons... we chose Orijen to slowly transition him from puppy food to adult food. Because Akitas in general get bored with the same old foods day in and day out... we plan to alternate between this product and the Taste of the Wild brand as both receive top ranks and more importanly are easy for our puppy to digest. He loves the taste and whether we include the raw diet portion to his meal or just give him the dry alone... he cleans the bowl. He is a very active dog and I find this product has a quality mix of ingredients that are easily digested and yet maintain optimal health and performance for my active puppy. I will continue to use this brand and highly recommend it to others who have dogs with sensitive digestive issues. The fact that it is made in Canada and contains no ingredients or chemicals from China is an added bonus.

I have 3 dog, From 11 year down to 3 . I always thought I was buying a premium dogfood because they deserved the best. I was at a friends house and couldn't believe the color of their dogs coat. Upon coming home I looked up and purchased your brand. I can't begin to tell you the difference in them. You have put a fountain of youth in your food. My 11 year old is a puppy again, My 9 year old has more enegy than the puppy and has the best looking teeth in years. The pup, 3 years old has trouble keeping up with the older ones. Never has their eyes been so clear, their coats have never been this soft and shiney, and they look forward to meal time. It has helped them with their stomach's as well. All three of our pups (American Eskimo and 2 Samoyeds) are thriving on Orijen. After just a couple of months on it, their fur has turned soft as silk and stools are small and firm--a big change for our 11 year old eskie who has always had messy BMs. It's actually a good value despite the price because the portions are smaller than with other types of kibble.

This is the best dog food out there, hands down. I switched about a year ago, and I won't switch to anything else. His coat is shinier, he has more energy and vitality, and he actually eats less of this food. There are no fillers or grain, and a much higher protein content, so just like humans, when dogs eat a higher percentage of protein and much less of carbs, it takes much less food to feel satiated. Although this is more expensive than other brands, my dog eats a bit less, and the bags last me longer, so it is a break-even in the end. I highly recommend Orijen!!!

I started my new GSD on Wellness and could not believe the volume of stool that came out of him. Then the allergies started, ranging from itchy paws, rashes around his groin and belly, and ear problems. I switched him to Orijen between 6 and 7 months (one full month to change over) and could not believe the difference. His stools are firm and about half of what they used to be. When we got Charlie, the vet recommended Science Diet. Little did we know, most vets get compensated for recommending certain brands, such as Science Diet. The ingredients in that food were not at all good plus Charlie was itching and had skin allergies. I researched online for days and came accross Orijen. Immediately his coat got shinier and his alergies went away.
If you can afford this and love/care for your pet as much as we do, then try it. He gets compliments all the time as to his coat. I will feed him this for ever. He deserves it!!!

I am feeding this to my Pit bull mix. He was on Nutro Large Breed but was having some issues on it that I just got tire of dealing with(bad gas, tarter build-up on teeth, not eating eagerly,etc). I switched him to Orijen and he loves it. All his problems disappeared and his energy level increased. I recommend this product to everyone. Best food hands down.
