My dog ate a rock and was unable to digest most of her food. Once the rock was passed, I used this product, to help restore her "friendly bacteria". She is approximately 1/2 of the way through the 30 day supply. The vet said to use one box of 30 packets - once per day. She is doing very well now. The product was also 1/2 the price of what I paid previously (to the vet) a couple of years ago (for a different dog). Very pleased.

Great product, works well for GI upset in pets, especially pure breads who tend to have GI issues. None of the pro biotic products (human or canine grade) are not guarenteed by the FDA. It falls under supplements.
Great price and great product. Also works well on puppies who are transitioning to their new home or first long trip.

Purina can't offer clinical evidence fortiflora works. Instead, Purina's official website states "promotes" GI health. In other words, there is no scientific evidence, but (ie negation) there appears to be "improvement".
The appeal of this probiotic comes in the easy application: sprinkle on top of food and, viola, problems resolved. No, not really; It's pixy dust.
At the very best, adding probiotics to the gut assistants in breaking down solid material. That is all the magic this stuff offers.
However, there is absolutely no supporting evidence probiotics sprinkled on top of food make it past the gastric acids of the stomach where Purina argues impact. In fact, another recently discredited probiotic pixy dust -AZODYL- is specifically packaged in a gelcap by its manufacturer because their own research indicated when sprinkled on top of food, the product didn't make it to the lower GI because couldn't survive the stomach.
Summation: expensive daily application of pixy dust that may help breakdown solid biological matter, yet shows no clinical evidence of enriching the flora of the lower GI as claimed. There are much cheaper ways to breakdown food to be better aborbed by the GI tract; and yes, much cheaper probiotics that will assist your beloved friend in the same way.
Just because a Vet says it works doesn't mean the vet can prove it with clinical research. Ask your "prescribing vet" next time you seem them. Say, "Prove Azodyl or Fortiflora works. Show me the research data". IF they hand you product/market literature and no scientific citation, don't be surprised. It doesn't mean your vet is bad, just incapable of proving the claim.
So the next question is, if the vet can't clinically prove it, why offer it? You wouldn't have the same lack of proof if you asked them to show clinical evidence amoxicillin works.

FortiFlora was recommended for my setters by our veterinarian. My English Setter has had a semblance of irritable bowel syndrome from puppyhood, and we never knew what would cause him to get diarrhea. It could have been a certain food, emotional stress, or change in weather, or all of these combined. He just had a sensitive tummy. Since starting him on Fortiflora, he is regular, and we have no diarrhea issues any more.
My old Irish Setter has problems with her pancreas and severe food allergies/intolerance. This product helps her process foods she can eat better. I am also very pleased that I am not giving my pets any chemicals but a natural probiotic product.

My dog has chronic and intermittent poop issues. After a battery of tests that ruled out all the scary stuff, my vet prescribed this probiotic. My dog eats it without complaining. The problem persists however. But giving it to him can't hurt. By the way, the price here was six dollars off my vet's price.

My vet had prescribed this for my dog and after finishing the box it seemed to help with his tummy problems so I decided to continue it (with the approval of the vet). It's very easy to use, just sprinkle it on the food, and I guess it tastes ok since he has no problem gobbling up his food every time!

My dog would poop 3 times on a walk. First one a little soft, then each poop after is even softer. Since using this product, she usually only poops one time per walk, it is firmer and seems like she eliminates it all at one time. It has not affected her eating so I assume she likes it. I will continue to use this product. If we forget to use it, the following day I notice a difference in her poop. Have been using it for a few months now.

I have 2 small dogs. One of them is sick a lot. Our vet put her on this FortiFlora. This fixed her right up, it's easy to use and now both dogs eat it. Our vet recommended this for our dog because of his sensitive stomach. He said some dogs just can't keep a good balance of healthy bacteria in their systems. We added 1 packet a day to his morning meal with a spoonful of yogurt(vet suggested adding to either wet food, yogurt or water to make it more palatable). He has been using this for 3 months and it has been very successful.

I'm a strong believer in probiotics for humans and animals but it's hard to know which products contain what they claim they do. Forti-Flora was recommended by a veterinary nutritionist for my large dog with inflammatory bowel disorder and it helped. Since all of my dogs/cats occasionally take antibiotics and have other stresses on their systems, I provide supplements for optimum health. I add this to all of their morning meals with confidence.

This product was given to me by my new vet. My little doggies had been suffering from diarrhea for months. I had been taking them to a different vet that kept giving them different antibiotics. I believe those antibiotics destroyed the "good" flora in their digestive tract. They just kept getting sicker and sicker. i honestly thought that one of them was going to die. This product made a difference within the first 2 days. After a week...wow!!! I am so happy that this product was available for my girls. I was given this to accompany antibiotics for my dog. The vet said it was also good for stressful times like boarding or traveling, so I have continued to keep a supply on hand. It is great for my dog who can be a little stressed by new situations and shows it through a sour or upset stomach. He is also a finicky fellow and loved the flavor it added to his food. I only use it occasionally, but I recommend it.

This new product, FortiFlora is a life saver for our bearded collie. She has had soft stools for an extremely long time. Vet checked constantly. Since trying FortiFlora via our vet, our dog finally has formed, normal stools and is full of vitality. At at age 7 she is acting like a new pup, so active and happy. I highly recommend this to every pet owner. You will see an immediate improvement in eating timely, better stools and more vitality. This is now a regular product used at our house.
