I cooked for my last standard poodle since he had lots of food allergies and couldn't eat commercial dog food and he lived to be 15 years old so I decided to continue cooking for my two standard puppies. Since I cook a pork chop based food with lots of vegetables and supplements added, I wanted a dry food to mix with their food to extend it since it can be pretty time consuming and pricy to feed two puppies. I chose this brand because of the excellent reviews and the salmon because it was lower in protein. They love this food mixed with their home cooked food and, when I haven't had time to cook for them, they happily devour this food alone. I will definitely purchase this again!

I wanted to add some variety to our dogs feeding routine by adding some fish protein. I was afraid my huskies would not like the taste. . . I was wrong. They loved it and didnt leave a single morsel in their bowl. I mixed it with a small amount of canned salmon dog food and a little hot water. The bag size is good, the dogs will be done with the bag before they tire of the taste.

My bull terrier mix has seborrhea, a chronic skin condition causing flaking, itching, and bad doggy odor. Feeding TOTW Pacific Stream is part of her treatment plan, along with medicated shampoo and salmon oil. Omega oils are so important in treating this condition and I noticed a dramatic difference when I started feeding TOTW. I mix a little TOTW canned in with the dry, and then a little squirt of Wild Alaska salmon oil. She loves it and it's good for her!

I am a member of the Philadelphia Police Dept Canine Unit. I have noticed that there is alot of the same sickness that alot of our canines are experiencing. After looking into it and doing alot of research of what the dogs are eating it seemed that the food was not up to par as to what you would think it to be. When you do your research and see what you are giving your pet/partner you will be shocked to say the least. Do your homework and compare TOW will fit your dogs health needs. While my canine was in training I fed him the TOW with Bison to give him the higher protein now school is done he is on the salmon. You may be paying a little more for the TOW than some brands that you get at your local petstore but in the long run you will make out. Taking your pet to the vet is a very expensive task that some cannot afford so why not eliminate that and start your canine off on the right foot. In the long run you will save alot of money at the vet. Not to mention prolonging the life of your partner. I cannot express enough do your home work and look at the pesticides that are in may of the foods that you may thingk are on the higher end of the dog food chain.

This is a perfectly good food. My dog's liked it. Their stools were terrific on it. But the white dog's tear staining increased dramatically while eating it - and resolved quickly when I switched to regular Canidae.

Excellent product. We have a dog that is allergic to practically everything. Certain brands of dog food created earaches and rashes. This is the only food she has been able to eat without an allergic reaction. We HIGHLY recommend this food. I have "6" dogs and "2" cats. I recently switched from another brand I've been using for over 2 years because of a change in distribution and not being able to talk directly to the company making it because they felt another site "[@]" would make it easier to purchase their product -- so not true, it's actually more complicated. I also switched because another group "Pets With Disabilities.org" for whom I make monthly donations of "Taste of the Wild" is actually helping their disabled pets to retain healthy coats and maintain good body weight. All of my pets have special needs and I needed a pet food that would be good for them and easier on the pocket. Everyone I've talked to can't say enough about "Taste of the Wild" and say if it was ok for humans to eat it they would because the smell it pleasing and their own animals love it. We are into our 4th bag of this food and our 3 boxer's are loving it. One of our Boxer's has always shed, had loose stools and gas like you couldn't imagine. He was also very picky about eating and would skip 2 - 3 meals per week. By skipping meals his stomach would get upset and we'd have to deal with all that goes with that. Now he anticipates each feeding with a lot of enthusiasm and hasn't missed a meal since we started with this food. His stools seem normal, shedding greatly reduced and his gas is absolutely gone! My black lab Murphy was eatting a different high end brand, and his coat just didn't look as glossy. Then he started to get dandruff. Then he started having runny BMs, so we knew it was time for a change. He had a sample of Taste of the Wild before and we knew he liked it. What we didn't expect was the change in his coat. It was as if we didn't realize the difference until we had him on the better food. And his BMs are back to normal. This is well worth the price!

We have 3 dogs one of which is a allergy, ear infection riddled Golden Retriever. Many a vet recommended we put him on a do food that is fish and potato based but we were unable to find such a product until one day I happend upon the Taste of the Wild Pacific Stream in a Tractor Supply store of all places. I read the label and found the contents meet and exceed what had been recommended for our boy. We brought the food and the dogs seem to like it (would still prefer actual Salmon be served to them). We do see improvement in our Golden's allergies and he is definately less itchy. I just wish we had found this food ten years earlier.

When I got my 5mos old Dane from rescue, he couldn't hold down anything I fed him. I tried every premium dog food available month by month and he was constantly sick. He couldn't even hold down home cooked food. Finally I got to TOTW Pacific Stream. What a difference! He stopped running at both ends and started putting on weight. His energy and health improved immediately. Four years later he is still doing great on this food and everyone from vets to passers-by comment on how he is the picture of good health. I switched my senior cat to the feline formula and she is looking better and acting more energetic as well.

I started our Plotthound on this formula when she was experiencing allergy issues and on the recommendation of fellow volunteers of our GSD rescue. She gobbles it up. The kibble is small (3/8"). If your dog has allergies, you may want to give it a try.

The fish oils have made a huge difference in my dogs coats. Being fish however it can cause some diarrhea issues especially at first. Beano plus mixing it with the other blends helps this. Being grain free they have less fat on their bodies. Strong fishy odor.

My Clover loves this flavor. She is an Old English Bulldog and has an alllergy to grains. We started her on this brand at the beginning of this year and so far no more skin or ear infections. Yay! Out of all the flavors of the Taste of the Wild this is the one that she has been eating and finishing as soon as her food is given to her. It is a little stinky but I think thats why she likes it. Although its a little pricey its worth the expense. It saves her and us from visiting the vets office.

My two Yorkies were having terrible digestive problems with every food I tried them on. They were constsntly on antibiotics for chronic diarrhea. The vet put them on 2 different very expensive prescription foods without any improvement. Within 2 days of starting Taste of the Wild there was significantly improvement. Within 3 days their problems had resolved and never returned. Very high quality ingrediants.

I have a 3.5 year old Siberian Husky and a 5 month old Standard Poodle. Both do well on this food. The Siberian is allergic to RX foods for gastro health and kidney heaalth. He does fine on Taste of the Wild. The Poodle puppy did not do well on another premium Puppy Mix. Both dogs love the Pacific Stream taste which can be fed to puppies and adult dogs. This food has eliminated our 120 lb GSD's skin and digestive issues. His scratching is almost non existent. He used to get frequent diarrhea and bouts of nausea that made him eat huge amounts of grass. Not anymore. I do use the Lamb formula too. I mix the TOTW dry food with either California Naturals Lamb & Brown Rice canned food or EVO 95% canned food (all varieties). My GSD is doing great on this regimen.

Awesome food for my dog with an allergy. One of the only ones that I could find without any chicken whatsoever in it (others have chicken fat, eggs or egg shells). With that out of the picture my 80lb American Bulldog is loving life without scratching at everything on him till it's red and sore.

We tried all kinds of others in an effort to find out what the problem was and spent a lot of money, but this is a great price for a good food for my dog and both of us couldn't be happier!

Give it a go if you are on the fence about the food and have a dog with food allergies BUT BE WARNED it takes 10-12 weeks for your dogs body to get rid of the old stuff they had piled up in there! Stay patient and you will see results slowly over time. Another tip I had to learn on my own: throw in the right amount of vitamin E and fish oil for your dogs weight and you'll have a show dog in no time.

Coming from three years of vet visits and expensive foods, I only wish someone had pointed the diet part of my dogs health to me earlier. Good luck!

I bought this food for our 12 year old Rottweiler with cancer. He seemed to enjoy it so I began feeding it to our 10 year old. Since I've started, the 10 year old has a great coat and is very energetic. The only complaint is that when mixed with warm water, it doesn't absorb much of it.

My husband and I are the proud new parents of a beautiful Pit Bull rescue. Her lack of previous nutrition left her extremely food sensitive. The common ingredients in what our vet refers to as "grocery store" petfood were causing stomach problems and allergies that came in the form of teary eyes and itchy red bumps covering her skin.
We slowly switched her to this particular food, and a month later her eyes and skin are completely clear, she is going regularly during our walks and she is now experiencing a very active and happy life. Oh, and she really loves to eat it.

My 9 year old German Shepherd dog has multiple allergies, particularly to grains and chicken (and, of course, eggs and other chicken products). I take her to a holistic vet who uses Chinese medical principles, homeopathy, etc. for her care. Birgit eats this kibble with canned fish (no tuna!), turkey, or pork for breakfast -- it's fast and easy for busy mornings. For dinner she gets the same proteins (canned or cooked by me) and 6 - 8 veggies (canned or steamed from frozen -- "fresh" veggies, unless from your own garden, are less "fresh" than those processed immediately after harvest). Her treats are raw carrots or other veggies, fruits, and Taste of the Wild kibbles -- no "doggie treats"!

Birgit thrives on this diet. Her coat is gorgeous, shedding is greatly reduced, her weight is perfect, and she loves her meals. I buy her canned meats from Pet Food Direct because they carry a variety of meats that do not contain grains or chicken products.

Tried this food as an alternative to having 2 dog foods for 2 dogs; a puppy and an adult. Nice being able to have 1 food for both dogs. Love the convenience of having the food delivered to my door!

Poochie has always had problems with digestion with the occasional diarrhea and some vomiting. He has been on Innova, Halo which helped some, but didn't fully take the problem away. We also bought a small bag of EVO, but that was extremely bad. It might have been too high in protein and his stomach couldn't handle it. As soon as we put him on TOTW, those problems virtually disappeared. His stools are healthy and we have been recording his stools every day for a year now and they have never been as healthy or so "on-time" as they are now. We also used to have problems when he wouldn't eat his food unless we mixed something else with it. This is not the case with TOTW. I'm not saying TOTW will work for all dogs, but it is definitely worth a try if your pal has a sensitive stomach. Poochie is now ten and we hope that he'll be with us many more years to come.

Initially this formula may cause some diarrhea until dog acclimates to it. I mix it with the roasted fowl and bison formulas. My dogs absolutley love it and their coats have become shiny and silky.

I have been raising toy poodles for several years, and I have eight of the furry little savages (yes, toy poodles can indeed be savage!) I always fed them grain free foods, and I have tried several of the top brands. One of my dogs has a sensitive stomach and/or food allergy, although the vet ran a multitude of tests and could find nothing. She always suffered from intermittent bouts of diarrhea and would get sick and vomit every time I tried to very gradually switch her to a new food, it was like even a few new kibble would send her poor stomach into spasm. TOTW Pacific Stream is the only food I have ever been able to switch her to without incident, and her stools actually immediately improved! Now it's the only food I use, and she no longer gets sick or ever has diarrhea, and her stools are firm and regular and she is happy and full of energy! I love the fact that TOTW is lower in fat than many other grain free foods, and it is good for all life stages from puppies to adult. It is also a bit cheaper than some of the other brands I have tried, and no, it does not smell very fishy or leave the dogs with fish-breath (that would be really bad with 8 licky dogs!) Plus the dogs just LOVE this food, they literally will go through their entire repertoire of tricks at feeding time! They are all lean, muscular, extremely athletic and energetic and their joints are all healthy (thank goodness I work out a lot). And too smart for their own gosh-darn good. Great food, you will not be disappointed!

This food is very good. It is grain free, has a good bit of protein and omega fatty acids in it. I also like the other added health ingredient. It is very affordable as well. My longhair dachshund eats it as part of a rotation. And, my scottish terrier eats this most all of the time. My 'only' concern at all is that the suppliers may use ethoxyquin to preserve the fish meal before shipping.

My dog is a picky eater, and we struggled to find food he liked. He tolerated some okay, but TOTW is one of the first he would eat as a treat/snack out of my hand and not just when forced to eat it in a bowl. It's also a great food and one I can feel better about giving him. His digestion is better with it, too. I'm so glad we tried it and plan to use it for a long, long time!

We have raised/bred Shih-Tzu for more than 16 years. I have used a quality brand food and often cooked brown rice,chicken, veggies for our darlings . I wanted a grain free more natural food that has fruit/veggies. all love this smoked salmon food. Even our Nikki ( Yorkie ) They deserve the best and I believe they are now getting a more balanced & healthier diet. Coats are looking very nice, they have lots of energy and always ready to eat at dinner time.

I have 3 Great Danes of varying ages, but all with sensative tummies. They've been on the low residue vet food for some time but developed liquid/loose stools which we couldn't get under control. Their coats have been dull, dry, flaky and shedding all over the place. I was thinking of changing their food again, but wasn't sure what to try. I read the comments here and based on the great reviews decided to give it a try. Thank you! In less than a week i can see a difference. Their stools are solid, their coats have become super soft, they are also eating less food and eating it dry! My guys are really picky and will refuse food if they don't like it, but so far no complaints. Thank you for making a great quality food that finally delivers results. Very impressed, so please don't change the formula!

i have 5 dogs 2 american pit bull terriers, a standard poodle, chihuahua and chichon(bichon chihuahua mix).their coats are great low shedding and very shiny and healthy. iam a dog groomer and reccomend this food to my cleints and the results are fantastic for all that switch over. my friends bull terrier was suffering from yaest and bacterial infections in his ears and bouts of bad poop from time to time and not really eating like he should . she switched to TOTW salmon and he has great stools now.loves to eat and his coat and ears look great!

My shitzu Bandit is now 10 years old. Most his life he suffered from food allergies. He smelled, chewed his paw etc. After having allergy testing we discovered what foods he was allergic to. The Taste of Wild Salmon had all the right ingredients that he "could" eat. Amazing change in Bandit. He stopped itching, losing his hair and smelling. He loves the taste and licks the bowl clean.

It seems healthier than most dog foods. I like that my dog is eating more protein than filler. He seems to really enjoy the taste. It is not too expensive. It is made in the USA (not China). He has been on this food for six months and has had no digestive problems whatsoever. Two thumbs up.

I first ran across this product in a feed store I go to. I took home some samples and was shocked at the reaction of my dogs. Usually they just nibble - not this time!
I have a 13 year old Golden Mix, a 11 year old retired Greyhound and a 3 year old retired Greyhound. Keeping the weight up on my 11 year old greyhound used to be a chore. Not on this food - she loves it! After 4 years of racing and 5 years of having pups every year, keeping weight on this dog seemed impossible. I solved this problem by switching to this food. All three of the dogs love it and I and everyone I meet notice the change in their coats. My vet was shocked when he saw how nice the 11 year old's teeth were. (Greyhounds are well known for having terrible teeth due to what they're fed during their racing years.)She's like a new dog with more energy and 'dances' when it's time to go for a walk.
I've also noticed a big change in the coats and energy of my 3 cats.

I just love this product. My 8 month old German Shepherd puppy has suffered from bad yeast infections in her ears and on her tummy from allergies to chicken and grains. Ever since being on Taste of The Wild Pacific Stream she has no more ear problems, no hot spots nothing! And her coat is softer than soft and everyone comments on how good she looks!

We switched our 6 yr old Shepherd/Lab mix to this food last yr on the recommendation of our local natural pet food store. Years of burping, vomiting and even paw licking/itching disappeared, problems that had gotten better on other high quality brands but just never quite went away. I had been searching for a food that wouldn't send my dog's allergies into overdrive and this is it! She's allergic to many environmental factors and I needed a food that wasn't going to put added stress on her sensitive system. I have a black and tan coonhound that went through years of allergies around her face and paws. Once I switched to this grain free diet, her allergies virtually disappeared. I have a Wheaten Terrier and like a lot of Wheatens, my dogs has cronic colitis. My dog would eat rugs and cloth,sticks and grass to relieve it. She came close to death after eating a ball of yarn. I tried "Taste of the Wild" for my dog. It was like night and day! She has not had a bout of Colitis since, and I no longer have to worry that she will eat something to hurt herself!
