It is the recommended treatment of kennel cough or tracheobronchitis. More formally it is for dogs and combines antipruritic tablets, antitussive activity of trimeprazine with anti-inflammatory effect of prednisolone.
TEMARIL-P� (trimeprazine tartrate, prednisolone) TABLETS are approved for:
Antipruritic: Indicated for the relief of itching, regardless of cause. The usefulness of TEMARIL-P has been demonstrated for relief of itching and reduction of inflammation associated with most skin disorders of dogs, such as eczema caused by internal disorders, otitis and dermatitis (allergic, parasitic, pustular and non-specific). Antitussive: Recommended for primary and adjunctive therapy in various cough conditions of dogs, including kennel cough or tracheobronchitis; bronchitis, including all allergic bronchitis and infections; and coughs of non-specific origin except coughs due to cardiac insufficiencies.

I have Brussels Griffons. This is the best for any allergies that may arise. I gave my dogs Benedryl for years, per my Vet. I kept asking if any side effects would arise. He assured me not to worry. It sorta controlled the itching and skin issues. Then her teeth began coming out, she went blind, and all the horrors in the world showed up. I changed Vets as I felt sure he would insist on putting her to sleep and I wasn't ready for that. She even had issues breathing. The new Vet considered it a challenge. She put her on Temaril-P and within just a week I saw a big difference and she thanked me. My dog thanked me. To this day, my dog is happier than she has been in years, the skin looked almost new again, and except for the blindness, you cannot tell she was ever so sick as to consider needing to be put down. She is almost 11 years old and full of life. This was what we needed a lot of years ago. I just had the wrong VET.

Started my 70 pound Golden Retriever on 4 pills a day and noticed an immediate relief. 4 days later we were down to 2 a day and now just one pill a day. Still working great for him, and with minimal side effects for long term use. Best price on Temaril-P I could find. Great product!

I give my newf a 1/2 tablet every morning and it keeps the hotspots away. (She tends to be itchy)! Tried different foods, allergies, etc. Couldn't figure out what makes her itch, but a little temeral-p makes her not itch!

Temeril-P works great for my dog Dutchess. She use to have a constant cough and that has stopped. They are easy to administer, I just snap them in half before putting them in her food.

We're using the drug in conjunction with allergy shots. We hope to completely wean our dog off the drug when/if the allergy shots eventually take full effect.
The pharmacy went out of its way to call my vet and get the perscription filled and delivered promptly. Really nice people on the phone.
