Revolution for Cats is a topical parasiticide that is applied to the skin of cats eight weeks of age and older to kill adult fleas and prevent flea eggs from hatching. Prevention of heartworm disease, treating and controlling ear mite infestation, intestinal worms, roundworm and hookworm has never been easier with the use of Revolution for Cats.

Directions for Use:
  • Hold tube upright
  • Press cap down until you hear click (cap punctures applicator seal)
  • Remove cap and check to be sure tip of tube is open
  • Part hair at base of neck and place tube on visible skin area
  • Squeeze tube 3 or 4 times in one spot until empty. Keep tube squeezed to avoid drawing liquid back into tube
  • While keeping tube squeezed, drag it away from the liquid and lift up to remove
  • Ensure tube is empty.

It works for my cats. 3 cats don't mind getting it,but the other one is not too happy to get it,but she needs it as she once had fleas so small I could not see them.

To prepare a dose, you are supposed to press down on the cap until it opens the tube. This is fine when it works, but some percentage of the time, the cap won't press down, and I end up having to use scissors to puncture the tube. Other than that, the product seems to have few side effects and certainly appears to keep the fleas away from our outdoor cats.

I've used this product now on my outdoor kitty for a few months. She is always in the fields and tall grass, and I've never seen a flea or tick on her! She has gotten tapeworms from the product, but the vet office that I am an assistant at provides free worming from the Revolution company if any type of worm is seen.

We've been using revolution for some time and were looking to save costs. We have a couple older dogs and a young cat and wouldn't use any other product on them.

Service & Delivery comments:

This was my first experience with PetFoodDirect and they've nailed down just about everything you can from a service standpoint. Great automated communications ensure the customer never has a question about their order status. They also have great pricing that will keep me on as a customer.

This particular product requires a prescription. That in itself is another story. However, there has to be something that can be done to bring the process of getting the prescription to PetFoodDirect into the 21st century. The process currently requires sending the original copy of the prescription via snail mail before the order is processed. Again, to PetFoodDirect's credit, they were fast considering the boundaries with which they need to work.

I have used Revolution for my outdoor cats for many years. It's fairly easy to apply, but sometimes piercing the container is difficult. Occasionally, the fleas will jump off the pet and onto me! Sometimes, my cats are lethargic for a few hours afterwards.

We have tried several other things, including Advantage and Frontline, but the flees in North Florida are somewhat immune to them and all four had would have some fleas. Unfortunately, Revolution does not work against Deer ticks, so we will have to alternate each three weeks between Frontline and Revolution (suggestion of our vet).

This product was applied to my pet at the vets office. This product passes into the blood stream. My cat became limp and her eyes were dilated, I rushed her back to the vets and he tried to save her but it was too late. I don't think the vet should have used it on her as she wasn't feeling well. Please if you do choose this product keep a close eye on your pet. And do not ever use this on your pet if they are not 100%.
