The steroid that my little guy had to take for his dermatitis had so many adverse side effects that his quality of life was wrecked -- bloating, panting and labored breathing, excessive thirst, hunger, and need to eliminate, and aggressive behavior (the doggie version of "roid rage"). On my veterinarian's advice, we switched to Atopica, and it has been a godsend. No itchiness and no side effects! It's a large pill with no dog-friendly flavoring that is difficult to get Spud to swallow, and it is costly (I am lucky that I can afford it; I feel badly for those who cannot), so if it could be made more palatable and price-competitive, Atopica would be a 5-star solution.

Its great for my bulldogs allergies!! He doesn't scratch any more and his symptoms have subsided. the only issue was the first day he took it he threw up, the doctor said it was just an initial reaction and the he would be fine. He was!! Now he's doing great. Highly recommend.

I Have only used this since last thursday. I already have
a different dog. He has not scratched himself since saturday and no biting.

After spending $100's in Vet bills, he finally decided to offer this up and it works. My Westie suffered from skin allergies for the past 2 years (licked her paws raw/bleeding and dermititis in the hind area). Did allergy tests and found her to be allergic to quite a few foods, grasses etc. Eliminated those foods, but nothing worked as well as the Atopica. We only administer a pill every 3 days now as the side effects for her are a bit of vomiting, but only on day 1. Still works great. Would definitely recommend if nothing else has worked for your pet.
