These sunflower "chips" are actually large, whole seeds, not small, broken pieces. I use them in my backyard bird feeders and they're a huge hit with the cardinals, blue jays and virtually every other bird. The best part is that there are no empty hulls to clean up after. No more mess - hooray! This product is definitely worth the cost.
